In March of 2019, one of the strongest snow storms ever recorded hit Colorado in what meteorologists called a "cyclone bomb". That night, nearly 50 youth crowded Urban Peak's shelter. While many youth slept outside in the cold, these youth made their way to Urban Peak. The youth were homeless and Urban Peak offered them a safe and warm place to seek refuge from the storm.
Founded in 1988, Urban Peak is the only non-profit organization in Denver that provides a full convergence of services for youth ages 15 through 24 experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Urban Peak's goal is to help these youth overcome real life challenges and become self-sufficient adults.
Urban Peak provides five essential services:
· an overnight shelter
· a daytime Drop-In Center
· Street Outreach
· Education & Employment programming
· Supportive housing
Urban Peak believes their goal is to meet youth where they are and to provide them with the assistance and support they need to become self-sufficient or obtain the necessary services they need to exit a life on the streets. Urban Peak’s programs and services are founded on the principles of trauma-informed care and positive youth development and assist youth in reaching their potential and living a successful life off of the streets.

In October 2012, the members of the Joseph Family Foundation assembled a committee of 50 volunteers forming the vision and beginning the strategic execution for the inaugural Urban Nights held in August 2013. The committee's vision for the event was to artfully meld a high production fashion show with the message of Urban Peak. A "runway for a reason" was born and Denver's newest and most exciting Summer fundraiser was launched.
The inaugural event welcomed over 1,400 guests, raised more than $150,000 for Urban Peak, and launched Denver’s newest and most exciting fundraiser.
Over its five years, the Urban Nights fashion show and fundraiser has welcomed more than 7500 guests and has raised more than $2 million dollars. Urban Nights has also introduced Urban Peak to many new and prospective long-term donors. Most importantly, Urban Nights continues its mission of raising awareness to the plight of youth homelessness.
As it's founding and chief sponsor, the Joseph Family Foundation sponsors and underwrites Urban Nights guaranteeing that no financial risk flows to any beneficiary. All net proceeds from Urban Nights are donated to the beneficiary.
We hope you attend Urban Nights 2019 and that you open your hearts and your wallets.
