In October 2012, the members of the Joseph Family Foundation assembled a committee of 50 volunteers forming the vision and beginning the strategic execution for the inaugural Urban Nights held in August 2013. The event welcomed over 1,400 guests, raised more than $150,000 for Urban Peak and launched Denver’s newest and most exciting fundraiser.
Over the past four years, the event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for our beneficiary Urban Peak. Perhaps more importantly, we have introduced many new eyes to Urban Peak and brought an awareness of the cause they did not know exist in our Denver community.
In 2017, Urban Peak will again be the primary benefactor of funds that are raised which will help to end the plight of youth experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. This year we are also extending our reach to provide funding for other organizations in Colorado who also serve At-Risk Youth.
We hope you open your hearts and your wallets – and we hope you have a lot of fun at the event.

Thank you for your interest and for taking the time to review our form 990-PF filed with the IRS for year 2014-2016. I would like to bring to your attention to years, 2014 and 2015 which reflects returns filed by the Joseph Family Foundation.
Pending a determination from the Internal Revenue Service for Urban Nights Denver, the Urban Nights Denver event for years 2014 and 2015 was operated by Urban Nights Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Joseph Family Foundation.
In February, 2015 Urban Nights Denver received its tax-exempt status under section 501 (c) (3) further classified as public charity or private foundation.
Unfortunately, the timing of the award from the Internal Revenue Department did not allow for us to operate under our new designation, thus the 990-PF for the Joseph Family Foundation for year 2015.
This past year, 2016, and going forward, our charity event will operate as Urban Nights Denver. All tax returns and other pertinent financial information with reflect the operations of this charity.
Each year, a grant from the Joseph Family Foundation funds a substantial portion of the Urban Nights budget allowing the dollars from the August 4th event to flow to the beneficiaries. As a bona fide 501 (c) (3) charity, contributions to our benefactors are tax deductible. As the underwriter, The Joseph Family Foundation guarantees the solvency of the event so that no expenses are incurred by the beneficiary.
